Vanishing Point (Richard C. Sarafian – 1971) B-

Yeah, I wanted to see this after seeing Grindhouse and enjoying it very much. That also seems to be what other people wanted to do, because it was in ‘Long Wait’ mode for a looong time from Netflix. Anyways I saw it last night and it’s basically a long chase movie. The Character is the car. Period. Don’t bother looking for any deeper meaning or character developments. You barely even know or care who Kowalski is. It’s a fun movie with cool chase scenes and the main reason it gets a B level grade is Super Soul. Did Spike Lee base his Mister Señor Love Daddy character on him in Do The Right Thing? Probably not, but that’s who I kept thinking of.
