Stroszek (Werner Herzog – 1977) A

Unique story telling of a seriously odd trio (a slow ex-con, a prostitute and a very old man) who persue their American Dream in Wisconsin. They actually came to the US from Berlin and of course they were surprised that riches does not come easy…or at all. Filled with real people and odd images, it’s done like only Herzog can. One highlight was the bank employee so insanely polite while attempting to collect money due on the trio’s mobile home. In a movie full of interesting characters that guy sure made an impression with only 10 minutes or so on camera.
